Perez Quilting Club Makes the News

The Perez Quilting Club was recently featured/highlighted on Telemundo News for their service projects. Mystery Months Sponsored by the Perez Library

The library is hosting a Mystery Month Program for students in second through fifth grades. The program will run throughout January and February. Students who wish to participate must read 5 or more mystery (chapter) books and A. R. test on them earning a grade of 80% or better. Once students have read five (5) books, they need to complete a Mystery Months Entry Card and submit it to Mrs. Cooksey on or before February 28, 2019. What happens after that . . . Well, it's a mystery.

Perez will be hosting Career Day for all of our students on Friday, January 18, 2019. Parents who are interested in showcasing their occupation to our students are encouraged to contact your child's teacher. This is an awesome opportunity for our students to see different occupations that are available to them.

Box Top For Education

Pledge to help our school reach its goal of raising $1,000.00 through the Box Tops for Education Program.  Please send in your Box Tops for Education labels to your child's teacher.  These box tops help purchase items needed by our students and teachers.  Every little bit helps, and this is a great way to help our school.

Perez Elementary Participates in the Hour of Code

Students in Pre-kinder through fifth grade had the opportunity to participate in the Hour of Code at Perez Elementary during the first week of December. All of our students were able to see how to actually make a robot or drone work based on their code or program. See the McAllen ISD video for a look into coding at Perez as well as some of the other schools in McAllen.
